Do I need a roaming SIM?
For this dual-network setup, you need a working cellular roaming connection and a SIM or eSIM plan that can reach your intended services. Relay does not provide mobile data.
TWO NETWORKS. ONE ANDROID.
Domestic traffic on Wi-Fi.
Global traffic on your roaming
network.
Give each connection its own way through.
Wi-Fi stays connected. Routing rules choose the exit.
01Wi-Fi for the everyday
02Roaming for the global
03Both networks, together
THE ROUTE / LESS SWITCHING
Keep both networks available. Relay uses your routing configuration to send each connection through the right one.
Connections matching your domestic rules prefer Wi-Fi, so everyday browsing does not have to use your roaming allowance.
Illustrative only. Actual routing depends on your rules and available networks.
GET READY / A FEW ESSENTIALS

A few things to knowConnect to Wi-Fi and turn on mobile data. Enable data roaming as required by your carrier, and check your plan and remaining allowance.

Accept Android’s VPN connection request. Once enabled, check a domestic service and a global service before settling into your day.
GOOD TO KNOW
For this dual-network setup, you need a working cellular roaming connection and a SIM or eSIM plan that can reach your intended services. Relay does not provide mobile data.
Your configuration decides what matches the global route. The actual exit also depends on which networks are available. The diagram above illustrates the intended setup.
Some connections may fall back to cellular and consume your mobile allowance. Keep an eye on your phone’s network status and your carrier’s usage reports.
Relay uses Android’s VPN connection. Turn off other apps using that same VPN connection before starting Relay to avoid one replacing the other.
